A brief consideration over Lily Sverner's work and the portraits of madness
Abstract (English)
Considering the intersection between Art History, Anthropology, History, and Literature, this work aims to investigate experiences based on the perspectives of patients admitted to psychiatric institutions. To this end, we use a variety of documentation as a basis, including the photographic production of Lily Sverner, specifically the series entitled “Nomes”, produced from 1988-1991. In the field of photography, authors such as Georges Didi-Huberman and Susan Sontag guide this research, contributing to a critical and non-occasional perception of what the photographer portrays. In addition to the photographic analysis, through the analysis of these materials, I propose a sensitive and artistic immersion in the lives of people whom we are unable to interview, however, are able to fill the gaps in their stories with ever more questions. Keywords (Ingles)
