Consolidation mechanisms of ethnocultural interaction in mixed interethnic families
Abstract (English)
In modern society, preserving the cultural heritage of the family and the memory of ancestors is one of the ways to stabilize public consciousness, which is subject to intense pressure from the information environment. Given the specifics of the permanent information system focused on the prevalence of negative content, ethnically mixed families are guided by internal family values, especially in situations where geopolitical aspects conflict with the traditions and norms established in the family. Such a contradiction contributes to the development of two equally probable scenarios: strengthening interethnic integration within the household or the destruction of ties due to the opposition of values in their ethnic interpretation. For this reason, the study of these families allows us to assess their potential in consolidating society in crisis periods of transformation of public consciousness. The author conducted a sociological study using the focus group method (N = 42), in which interethnic families (Russians, Tatars, Belarusians, Bashkirs, Buryats) took part. For the study, unions that have existed for at least 3 but not more than 5 years, who registered their marriage with government agencies were selected. The aim of the study was to identify the main approaches to consolidating spouses based on a combination of ethnic traditions, norms, rules and attitudes. One of the most significant consolidating components was identified as intergenerational communication in the system of ethnic holidays and traditions. At the same time, the structure of holidays is formed based on the frequency and systematicity of interaction with the older generation of extended families. It should be noted that in the case when one of the spouses represents a culture with less pronounced traditions, the traditions of the other spouse are accepted in the family. If rituals and orders were characterized by relatively equal consolidation in parental families, their observance was implemented based on several principles. In the absence of contradictions in the observance of traditions, aspects of both cultures were preserved, holidays and rituals were celebrated according to the "family calendar". In the presence of contradictions in the system of traditions, the structure of observance was characterized by active-passive interaction or active action and passive support (immersion of one spouse with the general involvement of the other from the principle of social solidarity). In this case, in the system of family interaction, the selection of accepted cultural archetypes was carried out in the structure of dialogue interaction or through an experimental combination of individual ethnic complexes with their subsequent adaptation. Keywords (Ingles)
