Anthropological Prospects in Sports: A Pathway to Olympic Excellence by 2036

Abstract (English)
Sports are more than competitive pursuits; they are cultural and social phenomena deeply embedded in human civilization. Anthropology offers valuable insights into how cultural heritage, indigenous knowledge, and societal structures shape athletic performance and participation. This panel explores how anthropometric analysis, indigenous sports, traditional training methods, and community engagement can contribute to a nation’s long-term sporting success, particularly with an eye on the 2036 Olympics.
By integrating anthropometric techniques into talent identification, injury prevention, and training optimization, athletes can achieve peak performance while preserving cultural integrity. The revitalization of indigenous sports and training methods, such as yoga, meditation, and localized nutrition, fosters holistic athlete development. Additionally, grassroots initiatives and community-based sports programs enhance social cohesion, promote gender inclusivity, and boost local economies.
This discussion underscores the importance of ethical representation, policy recommendations, and sustainable infrastructure to create an inclusive and culturally enriched sporting ecosystem. By combining anthropological insights with modern sports science, nations can develop unique competitive advantages and establish themselves as global leaders in sports.
