Whither migration in Latin America’s feminist foreign policies?: The view from the ground in Colombia and Mexico
Abstract (English)
Multiple countries in Latin America have committed to integrating feminist principles into foreign politcy. Internationally, gender, migration, and development have been considered together as part of development policy and practice for decades. However, migration has yet to be articulated as part of FFP. Are there lessons to be learned from other countries in the region implementing FFPs on how to integrate these policy domains? Drawing on feminist scholarship and the authors’ policy engagement with regional international actors (state and non-state) working on gender-responsiveness, this paper argues for greater attention to migration on Feminist Foreign Policy in a comparative analysis between case studies of Mexico and Colombia, and how states can convert rhetoric to reality in the realization of feminist approaches to foreign policy. Keywords (Ingles)
