TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE, HYPERMEDIA AND HYPERTEXT SOCIETY. THE IMPACT OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION ON SOCIETY AND CULTURE

Abstract (English)
The research is a theoretical and empirical investigation of the social and cultural impact of the phenomenon of digitization and platformization of the tangible and intangible heritage. Starting from the observation that the digital medium modifies the way in which cultural resources are created, disseminated, safeguarded and re-used, the analysis sheds light on the manner in which the new technologies of information and communication, participate in the creation of new spaces of creativity, economic and cultural production, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration and education, in Romania and India. In this regard, our analysis takes into consideration the museum, as an institution inscribed in the public and cultural sphere, institutional policies, and heritage politics, (re)defined in the frame of the hypermedia, hypertext society (Barrett, 1991), the new digital and social media practices, that redefine the complex relationship between visitors and museum, from the anthropology of communication perspective.
